The Guidance and Counselling Unit is established to help students cope with the daily challenges and concerns in life and the turmoil of adolescent year. The unit actively plays an important role in student welfare. Part of this programme is the formation of Student Prefects to provide opportunity for students to practice leadership skills, acquire the value of responsibility, and instil discipline. Student Prefects are chosen for each class at the beginning of the year. They are expected to assist the advisory class teachers in class attendance, maintaining order and discipline among their classmates. Leadership, teamwork and health and safety are given as part of their training.
This unit also helpsĀ students decide which career path to take as they eventually join the future workforce, giving emphasis on the current needs of the society. It also offers supplementary education services to inform students of further educational opportunities and scholarships.
