With the first term assessment concluding last March and Term 2 activities rolling in currently, Seri Mulia Sarjana School held its first Parent-Teacher Meeting and Recognition Day last 30th of April. As a yearly inclusion in the academic calendar, this event aims to allow parents and teachers to meet and discuss the student’s learning journey and progress in school; with the hope of continuously strengthening the school’s partnership with its number one stakeholders and at the same time increase parent-involvement opportunities in school activities.
The recognition programme started with a prayer led by a K3 student, Muhammad Ammar Ar-Rayyan bin Amin Syah. It was followed by the welcome remarks of the Head of Subject of the Mandarin Language Department, Teacher Jessie Yong Ming Hui. Before the awarding of certificates, representatives from the Mesozoic Explorers Dr. Joseph K. Charles and Mr. Rosli Haji Kasah, presented their gifts of appreciation to our school for our continuous partnership through educational trips that we provide for our young Sarjanians. Teachers who have successfully completed the recent First Aid course were also given their certificates of recognition. Presented by Ms Cecilia Landingin, these were given to Teachers Mary May Rojo and Hajah Yasmeen Zahirah binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Salam. Moving on to the next part of the programme, student-awardees received certificates for the following categories which took place during the CNY celebration in school: Kg1 Traditional Chinese Attire Contest, Kg2 Chinese New Year Colouring Contest, and Kg3 Red Packet Lantern-Making Contest. The event culminated with the singing of the school’s alma mater song.
