On 29th May 2021, our K1 were introduced to Jackson Pollock’s style of art. Jackson Pollock was very well known for his drip style painting technique where he would splatter, splash and pour paint directly onto large-scale canvases. This way of painting was called ‘action painting’ because he would move very quickly across the canvas as he was painting. His art is energetic, messy and fun to make which makes it a great introduction for our bright and eager students. To paint like Pollock, our children spray-painted colours on the canvas using spray bottles. We were amazed at how well they expressed themselves using their energy to move around as they created their masterpiece! It was indeed another messy, fun, and memorable learning journey for all.
