In May 2024, Year 11 and 10 Express students from our school visited Kabunku Aquaponics, an initiative aimed at promoting sustainable horticulture to Brunei’s general population. During the visit, students had the opportunity to learn about aquaponics and hydroponics, innovative methods for cultivating plants and fish in the same environment. Highlights of the experience included feeding the Tilapia and handling the larvae of black soldier flies, which are used in insect farming.
Overall, the trip provided a fascinating showcase of effective techniques designed to ignite students’ passion for agriculture, crucial for both present and futurer agricultural sectors in Brunei Darussalam.
