Prathana Dinesh (Y10E) and Chia Xuan Lei (Y11C), on the recommendation of the judges
of The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, received their Bronze Award
certification for their outstanding essays under the Senior entrants category. This
competition was established in 1883 and is considered as the world’s oldest international
schools’ writing competition. According to the organiser, about 26, 300 entries were
received this year. This is indeed an opportunity for young Commonwealth citizens to
share their thoughts, ideas and experiences on key global issues and have their hard
work and achievement celebrated internationally. Every year, it offers all Commonwealth youth aged 18 and under the opportunity to express their hopes for the future, opinions of the present, and thoughts on the past through the written word. The competition is used by individuals and teachers to build confidence, develop writing skills, support creativity and encourage critical thinking, using literacy to empower young people to become global citizens. Our school representatives were trained by Teacher Toni Therese Bernardo and Cikgu Hajah Rosnah Binti Alias.
Congratulations Sarjanians! You made our school proud!
