Temporarily leaving the bubble of their classrooms in Kuo Chuan Presbyterian School, Singapore, twelve students accompanied by six teachers immersed themselves in the ‘Sarjana’ classrooms and enjoyed the meaningful and student-centred activities prepared for the day. Each student paired with a Sarjanian, the Singaporean visitors blended well and showed great participation in the collaborative and cooperative learning during the sit-in part of their visit from 5th to 11th March 2019.
Upon arrival on 5th March, the delegation was gladly welcomed by the host school, SMSS. Gathered at the waiting area, they were briefed on the activities and the classes they would be joining. It was followed by an introduction to their buddies, who were mostly officers of the Supreme Student Council. They were then ushered to their respective classroom assignments where they were warmly greeted by the hospitable students.
To further explore the culture and traditions of Negara Brunei Darussalam, the delegation went on side tours to other beautiful spots, schools and companies in the country.
The send-off programme held on 11th March started with welcoming remarks by the President of the Supreme Student Council, Md Asyraf Fausan bin Nizam Sumurdani. Poem interpretation, dance number and piano rendition enlivened the programme. The Singaporeans generously shared their speaking talent in their ‘Reader’s Theatre’ performance. Awarding of token of goodwill to the visiting party culminated the event.
