To commend the remarkable achievements of students in the Primary School Assessment (PSR), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and General Certificate of Education (GCE) ‘O’ Level 2018, the Sarjana family thronged and filled the Goldstone Ballroom of Centrepoint Hotel with pride and glee during the awarding ceremony held on Friday, 8th March 2019.

Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Dayang Marina Chek binti Bujang, the Senior Special Duties Officer/ Director for Private Schools Section of the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam. The said event highly featured Seri Mulia Sarjana School’s culture of excellence as evidently projected by the 112 achievers comprising 78 primary students and 34 secondary students respectively.

In a  welcome speech delivered by the Principal of the Secondary Section, Gazala binti Abdullah,  she underscored that good education plays a vital role in building the bright future of the children and that the school is committed in providing an atmosphere where the students can imbibe good values while learning new things every day. She further emphasized that the school does not only acknowledge and celebrate the awardees’ academic achievements, but it also gives due recognition to the values and morals as discipline, compassion and zeal for learning for which the awardees have exemplified.

Meanwhile, in the closing remarks by the Acting Principal of the Primary and Preschool Sections, Putri Maharani Simanjuntak expressed her gratitude to the parents, the Partners in Learning (PIL), for without their utmost cooperation, the celebration of the students’ achievements would have been very challenging to realize. In the same way, she thanked the ‘Sarjana’ family for their dedication and commitment. She ended up by stressing that all the achievements earned by the awardees have made the ‘Sarjana’ name shine in public. Furthermore, she challenged the honourees to continue to soar high and prove that indeed –  deep in their veins run the Sarjana blood.

To add meaning to the moment of thanksgiving and celebration, the Tausyeh was performed and the Doa was recited. The vocally gifted Sarjanians sang the National Anthem and the Alma Mater Song. Highlighting the ceremony was the awarding of trophies and certificates to the student achievers. To enliven the occasion, a Malay dance and the Chinese Dance Medley were performed. Both successfully depicted two different cultures that blended so well. There was no better way to end the occasion than gathering all the awardees and the guests on stage for a photo opportunity. The group photo framed in smiles of euphoria, explicitly captured the statement, Sarjanians are the FUTURE!

The loudest cheers to the 112 achievers whose names and accolades will forever become part of the many significant milestones in Sarjana’s history! May you continue to bloom wherever you are! Congratulations! We are so proud of you!
