On January 13th, Year 1 students embarked on a meaningful journey to better understand the struggles faced by millions of children around the world who lack access to clean water. As part of the Entry Point Activity for the Water Water Everywhere Learning Unit and linked to SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, the students participated in a hands-on simulation. They carried buckets and liters of water across designated areas around the school, experiencing firsthand the challenges many children endure daily.

This eye-opening activity was followed by a heartfelt reflection session. Students shared their thoughts and brainstormed creative ways to conserve water and reduce wastage in their own lives. Ideas ranged from turning taps while brushing teeth to reusing water for plants.

The activity not only deepened their empathy but also sparked a commitment to protecting one of our planet’s most precious resources. Together, these young changemakers took their first steps toward creating a more sustainable future.
